Description: The book is the edited version of the lecture notes provided by the eminent scientists and researchers of international level during a Regional workshop organized by the Indo-French Centre for Groundwater Research (IFCGR) in Hyderabad during June 17-21, 2004 and sponsored by UNESCO, New Delhi and MOWR, Govt. of India. The following major themes were included in the lecture:- Hydrogeology of hard rocks and Aquifer parameter estimation for characterization of hard rock systems; Regionalization of aquifer parameters and groundwater balance/budgeting; Optimal network design and aquifer modeling for groundwater management. The lecture notes are based on the findings of recently concluded research on groundwater management in the hard rock aquifers as well as continuing research work of Indian and French team that are jointly working.
